Harp and Crown Credit Union donate to Care of Police Survivors PSNI Unity Tour

COPS is a UK charity dedicated to supporting the families of police officers who have tragically lost their lives in the line of duty. 

Each year the UK Police Unity Tour takes place to fundraise for COPS.  Over £4,000 has been fundraised in Northern Ireland alone, with a total of almost £250,000 raised for the charity UK-wide.

This year the PSNI Unity Tour team was led by Superintendent Gerry McGrath, starting from the Gardens of Remembrance at Brooklyn, finishing at the National Arboretum, Staffordshire 3 days later.

PSNI Deputy Principal and renowned Piper, Jamie Walker provided a fitting tribute to the fallen, as he led the procession of families to the memorial trees at “The Beat” area of the National Arboretum, where each family member laid a single rose in memory of their loved one at their dedicated service plaque.

Superintendent Gerry McGrath, COPS Northern Ireland Unity Tour Chapter lead said:

“It was an honour and a great privilege to lead our peloton of cyclists as we rode to remember our fallen colleagues, and lay wreaths at the UK COPS remembrance event. We are humbled to receive a donation from Harp and Crown Credit Union which will go towards the Northern Ireland Chapter of the Unity Tour.”
