We currently have over 9700 members, who enjoy simple and flexible savings facilities with annual dividends on savings according to profits.
You can decide how much you save each month, with the maximum in the first 12 months of membership £100.00 per month. After you have been with us over 12 months, you can raise this if you wish.
Lump sum lodgement is restricted to £5000.00 within the first 12 months of membership, however after the 12 months has lapsed, further lodgement up to £25,000.00 is permitted.
Instant access to funds is provided, with none of your savings "locked in" - all we ask is that you leave £5 in to keep the account open.
The Harp and Crown is a non-profit making organisation, with an annual audit carried out to determine the dividend (interest) payable to its members. For the financial year October 2021-September 2022 we paid 1% on savings. We also paid an loan interest rebate to borrowers. where applicable in December 2022.
All dividends paid by Harp and Crown Credit Union are paid gross of tax. Any tax responsibility lies with the individual member and needs to be declared in any tax return.
At present the maximum savings amount that can be held at any time is £25,000.00.
Lodgements can be made by telephoning the office with debit card, posting in a cheque made payable to Harp and Crown Credit Union or by calling into the office with cash. **Please note lodgements cannot be made via the Harp and Crown online banking facility.
Currently we can accept a maximum £5,000 deposit per calendar month via debit card payment. In addition, a maximum £1,000 can be paid per month via payroll or direct debit.
To withdraw your savings, find out your current balance, or to amend the amount that you pay, please email us on: email@example.com providing details of your identification and instruction. You can also access online banking HERE. You will always receive a reply, letting you know that we have received your request, and that it has been actioned.
Your savings are protected under PRA and FSCS Regulations.
FREE LIFE COVER: Your savings and loans are protected with life cover at no direct cost to you. Up until 70 years of age, in the event of your death, your beneficiary could receive up to a maximum £5,000 on top of your savings balance (or 1.5 times your savings balance if it's to a lesser value). Any outstanding loan balances would also be cleared.
