How can I become a member?

The Harp and Crown Credit Union welcomes new members who fall within our common bond.  To become a member, there are two categories:

  1. Members who are paid via Police payroll (Police Officers & Staff). Simply contact our office either via phone (028 9068 5198) or via email (creditunion@harpandcrown.co.uk) requesting membership.  We will then confirm your PSNI email address and email you the necessary joining documentation (Application Form / Bank Details Form along with a list of acceptable ID and address verification).  You can then print off / complete and scan back on an email to us (along with the one form of ID and one form of address verification).  We will then process your application and email you back an initial statement with your account number.  Your saving will then commence with the next available payroll run (less the £5 joining fee).  That’s it.  If, however, you are paid via payroll but you wish to save via direct debit, it’s exactly the same process but we email you a direct debit form which you can post back to us (some banks only accept original documents).

  2. Members who wish to save via direct debit.  You can undertake the process outlined above**. We will send you a direct debit mandate (which you can post back to us as some banks only accept original documents) in addition to the documents listed.  **You must attend in person at our Newforge Office with ID verification within 90 days of emailing us back the joining documentation, otherwise we may need to close the account.  PLEASE DO NOT POST ID DOCUMENTATION AS WE NEED TO ACCEPT IN PERSON.
