The Harp and Crown Credit Union is celebrating another big milestone!
Harp and Crown Credit Union is the Principal Sponsor for the PSNI Rugby Football Club in 2025, their 20th year supporting the club!
The 20-year partnership was instigated by one of Harp and Crown Credit Union’s original founders, now Vice President – John Stratton.
John was a serving officer, working alongside Stephen “Ted” Hall (a PSNI RFC player at that time) and had encouraged Ted to apply for sponsorship though the credit union.
As they say, ‘the rest is history’!
Harp and Crown Credit Union Vice President, John Stratton said: “Thanks to Stephen Hall for his interest in the Harp and Crown Credit Union 20 years ago, I am proud to see the PSNI Rugby Football Club continue to provide an important health and wellbeing outlet for our sporting police family. We are delighted to be celebrating a 20th year milestone, with Harp and Crown Credit Union as the Principal Sponsor of PSNI Rugby Football Club in 2025.”
Paul Robinson, Senior Past President of PSNI Rugby Football Club said: “As President of PSNI RFC 20 years ago (now Senior Past President) we are incredibly humbled to be celebrating a key milestone with Harp and Crown Credit Union. We are thankful for their continued support of our club, our players, and our colleagues, invaluable during these difficult economic times.”

The PSNI RFC is a “family club” and enjoys support from all ages. Spectators are able to watch the game away from the elements, in the 75-seater spectator stand alongside the main rugby pitch at Newforge Sports Complex.
As a Police sporting club, the PSNI RFC would welcome any new players (whether Police, Police Staff or family members), of all ability levels – from those who have played rugby before, to anybody who wants to try the game. The Harp and Crown Credit Union wishes the PSNI RFC a successful season and encourage as many of their wider police family members and rugby enthusiasts, as possible, come out and show their support.
