Harp and Crown Credit Union are delighted to confirm a brand-NEW sponsorship within the wider police family - The Boys’ Brigade East Antrim Battalion Heritage Society.

Based in the Carrickfergus and Larne areas, the organisation recently celebrated Founders Day marking 140 years since the formation of the Boy’s Brigade, which many of the police family have been involved in during that time. Furthermore, the charity is chaired by former director of Harp and Crown Credit Union, Mr Drew Buchanan MBE.

The society has grown over the last three years attaining over 2,000 items of Boy’s Brigade memorabilia, some of which are over 100 years old.  In keeping with the charity’s objectives to protect their heritage, promote the society’s activities and generate a sense of pride within the local community, premises were secured to exhibit this vast collection.

Harp and Crown Credit Union are humbled to be able to support funding for The Boy’s Brigade Heritage Society Museum on High Street, Carrickfergus.

Harp and Crown Credit Union CEO, Siobhan Barclay said;

“Harp and Crown Credit Union has expanded their support of police family initiatives by way of sponsorship and we are only too delighted to provide some financial support to The Boy’s Brigade East Antrim Battalion Heritage Society, more specifically their new museum premises in Carrickfergus.  We would encourage our members and wider police family to visit the museum, volunteer and support this fantastic community initiative.”

Drew Buchanan MBE, Chairman of Board (The Boy’s Brigade East Antrim Battalion Heritage Society) said:

“The trustees wish to thank the credit union for the amazing support which will help us improve our displays for the benefit of the community.”

The Boy’s Brigade East Antrim Battalion Heritage Society Museum, High Street Carrickfergus is open from Tuesday to Saturday between 10am – 12noon and 2pm – 4pm (closing for one month for the Christmas break after 15th December).
