How to make a difference this World Environment Day

05 June 2024

world environment day 24

Today is World Environment Day with a focus on land restoration, desertification and drought resilience.

Here are 5 ways you can make a positive impact:

  1. MAKE AGRICULTURE SUSTAINABLE:  Support local farmers, shop for sustainable and locally produced food products and beverages.

  2. SAVE THE SOIL:  Collect kitchen waste to use as compost in gardens or balconies or contribute to composting schemes.

  3. BRING NATURE BACK TO OUR CITIES:   Volunteer and contribute to the rehabilitation of degraded landscapes and ecosystems (rooftops and gardens in urban areas).

  4. BRING BACK THE BUZZZ: Attract pollinators, including birds and butterflies to gardens by planting diverse native flowers.

  5. REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE to help reduce the plastic waste ending up in our ocean (we’re doing our bit at HACCU supporting local and purchasing reusable cups!).

AND if you need some help investing in a more SUSTAINABLE way of life…
