To receive a forecast, you must either write or phone the Government gateway service for pensions.

• Download the form here, complete it and send it to the address on the form. They usually respond within 14 days.

• Or you can find contact details here, phone 0800 731 0175.

Knowing your forecast will give you the opportunity to decide whether to plug the shortfall by making additional payments towards your NI contributions.
